I got to judge a spring roll wrapping contest at a Vietnamese cooking school in Bern today. Seeing Swiss people embrace nuoc mam and cafe sua da for the first time made me feel so proud of how our cuisine and culture has spread. Switzerland is quite far from Saigon. I am also proud to be learning about the diaspora of my heritage, the resilence, and the innovating second generation.
